I have photographed this head of the Homeric hero, Odysseus by one of the three Rhodian sculptors who carved their names on their complex masterpiece, The Assault of Scylla, that used to be be the in the Grotto of Tiberius, Sperlonga, as Athanadoros son of Hagesandros; Hagesandros son of Paionios; Polydoros son of Polydoros of Rhodes over a period of three days.
As the light changed I could hardly believe I had photographed the same marble head only twenty minutes before. It was even a different color.
