The two frescos in the Sede degli Augustali, Herculanum depict the final momentous events in Herakles’ life. In one fresco he wins Deianeira in the contest with Acheloos’ by breaking his right horn.
In the other fresco Herakles’ is taken from the pyre by Athena.
